Kubes HSE Policy Statement

HSE is as important as any crucial business activities, for improvement and measure as well as report performance. Since we are committed to contribute a sustainable development within the areas of our operations, Health, Safety and Environment will not be over emphasized.

  • It is our policy to protect the health of all employees and such person’s including third parties that may be impacted with our operations.
  • It is our policy to make sure that all operations are planned and executed without injuries to personnel or damage to properties.
  • It is our policy to curtail the impact of our activities on the people and the environment in which we operate.
  • It is the responsibility of management to ensure that the HSE policy is understood and implemented in all our operations.

Community Development Policy

In order to improve the standard of living in host communities we shall compliment our clients community development programme.This implies that Kubes shall be part of community assistance programme of our clients.

  • We shall establish a community development programme which shall conform to our development policies.
  • We shall work in partnership with host communities and where appropriate with Government, donors, non-governmental organization, primary stakeholders and other stakeholder.
  • We shall search for the need and aspirations of host communities and channel them to the appropriate office for discussion and implementation.
  • We shall engage host community labour in our project execution.

Environmental Protection Policy

  • It is the policy of the company to critically review the environmental impact of any operation before actual work.
  • It is the responsibility of our personnel to follow established standards and procedure in the performance of duties and also to make sure that they perform their work in an environmentally sound manner.
  • It is the policy of the company to promote and encourage awareness thereby, helping in the preservation of the environment.
  • It is the policy of the company that all personnel shall pay appropriate attention to the environment by acting to preserve air, water, soil, plant and animals from adverse effects of their actions.
  • It is the policy of the company that at the conclusion of any activity, project site shall be left in a pristine condition.

Community Relations Policy

  • In order to pursue mutually beneficial relations with host communities, we shall:We shall be responsible for establishing cordial relations with local communities to the extent required to permit the execution of our services.
  • Liaise with our client community relation officers in the settlement of community related issues.
  • Be sensitive to the needs of host communities.
  • To engage host community labours who are competent to perform their role in line with our policies and that of our clients.
  • Ensure that all activities found to be unhealthy or with negative impact or a potential cause of communal disturbance shall be stopped or suspended until it is safe to continue.
  • Help to bring relevant issues affecting host communities to the attention of appropriate authorities and other bodies that can be of assistance.

Drug, Alcohol and Search Policy

The drug, alcohol and search policy is one important document that management laid more emphasis on in terms of compliance as management would not tolerate any violation of the policy.

  • It is a great offence for any employee to be under the influence of drugs, alcohol or found in possession of any unacceptable/unprescribed drug such as cocain, amphetamine, marijuana and hashish.
  • The company security personnel shall make occasional search on its employees and its sub-contractor working on site or in any of its client facilities to ensure compliance.
  • The p ersonnel are obliged not to resist any of such searches for non-prescribed drugs/alcohol by our security personnel, client security personnel or government agencies such as the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) or its affiliated agencies.
  • Any employee found to be under the influence of alcohol or found in possession of or under the influence of any unacceptable/unprescribed drug such as cocain, amphetamine, marijuana, hashish or residing on its site shall face the company disciplinary committee.

Security Policy

It is the policy of the company to safe guide the lives of her personnel, equipment and properties. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the company to evaluate and manage the risks associated with our operations to personnel and property during project execution.

  • We shall manage security affairs as an integral part of our overall HSE programme and indeed part of the security’s business so as to minimize the number of security related incidents for all staff, clients and third party personnel involved in our operations..
  • We shall recognize and provide clear guidelines for all classes of security emergency within its area of our operations, and where practicable, adequate number of trained security personnel shall be engaged during operations. Government security forces shall be engaged in line with our client security policy during project execution.
  • The chief security officer shall be responsible for management of all security related issues and programmed and report to the Director of operations.
  • To engage host community labours who are competent to perform their role in line with our policies and that of our clients.
  • We shall not carry out services in an unfriendly environment where there is continuous crises, except when it becomes important that such services is required by our client and approval for the use of Government security forces is given.
